Have your say on Ripon’s development

TWO sites in the Ripon area are at the centre of further consultation as Harrogate Borough Council considers preferred options for new housing development.
The council is seeking views regarding the Cathedral Choir School’s proposals to re-locate to a site south of Bellwood Farm on the southern edge of the city, and on extending a proposed ‘buffer zone’ around Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal estate to further protect the World Heritage Site.
The extension to the buffer zone includes land forming the view from the estate to Ripon Cathedral and Blois Hall Farm beyond.
Harrogate Borough Council has made no decisions about whether the sites it has identified, or the policies it has drafted, should go forward to become part of the Sites and Policies Development Plan Document which forms part of the Local Development Framework.
Responses to this latest consultation will be read alongside those made during another, held from September to November 2011, before the council finalises its draft plan in September 2012.
Further information and response forms for the consultation are available at ldfconsult
The documentation can also be inspected during normal opening hours at Ripon town hall and Ripon library.
Any comments must be submitted to the council by 4.30pm on Friday, May 25.
