Gift in a jar is a gift for students
Enterprise jars
Sixth form students from Northallerton College, in partnership with students from The Dales School, Morton-on-Swale, have raised more than £600, by combining their business skills in a joint gift-in-a-jar marketing enterprise.
Seven health and social care students from Northallerton College worked with 20 pupils from The Dales School, an all age special school.
Together they designed and marketed a selection of products which were sold at the Dales School Christmas fair.
Head of applied learning faculty at Northallerton College Belinda Roy said: “This is the first time we have worked together with The Dales School on an enterprise scheme and it has been a great success.”
The handmade products, all of which were contained in storage jars, included cookies, pet treats, hot chocolate, bird food and homemade bath bombs.
Assistant head teacher at The Dales School Anne Baker said: “This task was a real combined effort which benefited the strengths and skills of all of the students.
“Our pupils took the lead on designing and making the products while the Northallerton College students helped with the marketing, advertising and labelling.”
