German exchange for Thirsk schoolchildren

The Thirsk and German students together in Whitby.

German schoolchildren joined forces with Thirsk pupils as part of a cultural exchange trip this term.

In total 24 pupils took part in the week-long exchange between September 26 and October 3, which saw German schoolchildren from Gesamtschule Nettetal stay with hosting schoolpupils families in Thirsk.

As part of the educational trip, which has become an annual tradition for both schools, the group took trips to Whitby, York and Thirsk’s Herriot Centre. The return visit by Thirsk pupils to Germany will take place in November.
