Flasher in Russian hat attacks again
THE STRAY flasher has struck again.
On Monday (Mar 8) at around 8pm a woman was walking on the Stray in the Tewit Well area of Harrogate when a man, wearing a Russian hat stepped out in front of her and exposed himself.
It is the second time the woman has encountered the flasher in that area.
Insp Mike Woodhall, from Harrogate Police, said: "This is the seventh or eighth time it has happened in the same area. We are going to step things up and increase police patrols.
Vigilant
"We have some concerns as to where the offender is sitting and watching for lone females to come across. It could be he is sitting in a hedge or is behind a wall. He might even live there and is watching from inside his own premises."
Insp Woodhall said the police had a CCTV image of a man matching the flasher's description however they were not yet planning to release it to the public due to the sensitivity of the identification process.
The man was described as wearing baggy tracksuit trousers, a russian style furry hat, with a thin, gaunt appearance.
Insp Woodhall said: "We would ask people to be very vigilant.
"Lone females should avoid walking across the area and walk in pairs or groups if possible or make use of public transport."
