The parents of two disabled boys have thanked a hard-working charity for helping improve their lives.

Eric and Denise Shotton, who live in Catterick Village, received £3,000 to help their adopted sons, Jacob, 11 and Adam, 20. The money was raised at the annual truck-pull, when locals haul a truck from the charity HQ at the Oak Tree pub in Catterick Village to Catterick Bridge House Hotel. It started eight years ago and thanks to other fund-raising events has raised a total of £40,000 over the years for charity.

The family were nominated by local petshop owners Joe and Lynn Bench.

Just the Job Environmental Enterprise, a charity for young adults with disabilities, also received a £650 donation.
