The Wensleydale Creamery injected some fun into a charity cycling challenge for Wallace and Gromit’s Grand Appeal by donating a 21kg truckle of cheese for the fundraisers to tow.

The Hawes-based business was the starting point for the three-day, 320-mile journey undertaken by a team of lawyers from leading UK law firm Burges Salmon who are aiming to raise £25,000 which will be used to help the children’s hospital in their home city of Bristol.

They travelled more than 100 miles a day, fuelled by Real Yorkshire Wensleydale Wallace and Gromit snackpacks donated by the creamery as well as other energy-boostin-g snacks prepared by the support team.

David Hartley, managing director of the Wensleydale Creamery, said: “We are delighted to be supporting our number one fans, Wallace and Gromit, and the Grand Appeal on such a fantastic and worthwhile cause.

“It’s a great achievement for the team from Burges Salmon and their hard work and dedication in cycling all the way from the creamery back to Bristol is admirable – particularly with a giant truckle of cheese in tow!”
