THE Ripon independents have retained control of Ripon City Council, winning 10 of the 15 seats. The Conservatives won the other five.

Voters went to the polls on Thursday, May 5, in each of Ripon’s three wards – Minster, Moorside and Spa – with each ward returning five candidates to sit on the council.
