Parliament Terrace will remain closed for the next three month as a result of ongoing building work.
The road, which leads onto Parliament Street, has been closed for a number of weeks to accommodate the work and will now remain closed until April 30.
Coun Don Mackenzie, executive member for highways, said the County Council has had no complaints from residents despite the road closure.
He said: "It has been closed for a long while because of building work. It's not a particularly significant road and is usually used as an access road for very few vehicles.
"There has been a notice up but we have not had any complaints about it. It just seemed safer to close the road down given the building work."
