A Ripon schoolgirl enjoyed a once-in-a-lifetime back-stage experience with backstage access to the recent Olympic Games.

Olivia Harris, 11 won a three-day, all expenses paid trip to London 2012 in the McDonald’s Mascotathon competition. Children logged their exercise online for the chance to win the big prize.

The lucky youngster is one of 100 winners who visited the Games and even had the chance to meet Team GB athletes.

Before her trip Olivia said: I am so excited I’m getting the chance to go to the Olympic Games. I really enjoy sports in my free time and my favourite is football.”

Mum Nicky said: “The whole family is so thrilled about Olivia’s triumph, it’s a great opportunity that we could only dream of winning.”
