Northallerton Town Council is seeking nominations from the citizens of the town for Honorary Citizenship.
Nominations can be made for anyone who has lived in the parish for the greater part of their life, or has committed a considerable proportion of their time, voluntarily and beyond their work commitments, to benefit the population of Northallerton.
Whilst this, in the past, has been mainly for public and charitable services, nominations can be made for anyone so long as they are still alive. They can also be made for any reason that has benefitted the town, the preservation of its character, enhancement of leisure services to sport, business, churches, education, the arts, the environment and animal welfare.
Nominations must be made on an official form available from the Northallerton Town Council.
The form must include reasons for the nomination and be signed by two parish residents. Forms are available from the town hall, High Street, Northallerton, DL7 8QR. Telephone 01609 776718 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. Please submit nominations marked Private and Confidential to Mrs S Fraser, CEO and town clerk. Entries close on Thursday, March 22.
