A NATIONWIDE organisation for older people is coming to Ripon.
The University of the Third Age (U3A) is set to launch in the city on January 17.
The organisation will give people no longer in full-time employment chance to take part in a wide range of activities run by members themselves, at minimal cost.
The U3A has been running in the UK since 1982 and already has more tha 800 groups across the country.
They are democratic and self-funded groups which use the knowledge and experience of members to organise shared interest groups.
Organisers of the new Ripon U3A hope to attract enough people to form a committee to manage the city’s own U3A.
The group’s launch will take place at the Town Hall on Tuesday, January 17 at 2.30pm. For more information contact Jim Griffin on 01765 604353.
