The wintry weather continues to play havoc with Harrogate residents as the Met Office issues a yellow warning of ice for North Yorkshire.

Residents are warned that icy stretches are likely to form on untreated surfaces on Friday evening, overnight and then into Saturday morning.

The warning has been issued for 4pm today (January 30) until 11am on Saturday with the public being aware of the risk of difficult driving conditions.

Snow has already caused havoc on the roads in Harrogate and, with road surface temperatures falling widely below freezing on Friday evening, residents have been warned of ice.

Further sleet and snow showers have also been predicted for Saturday morning throughout the day with strong winds, meaning drifting and temporary blizzard conditions are possible.
