A drop-in event to highlight the importance of mental health is to be held at Ripon library on Thursday, October 10.
The event takes place in the cafe area of the library from 10.30am-1pm.
Visitors are invited to engage in discussion and reading aimed at promoting the awareness, stigma and help available for mental health conditions.
Service user liason worker Alison Briers, and carer’s assessment support worker Sharon Jessop will be on site to answer any questions about mental health alongside service users and carers who have a first-hand experience of living with a mental health problem.
The library has been chosen as the venue as it contains a variety of different books which deal with many of the challenges that people face in their everyday lives around confidence, anxiety and stress.
Additionally, The Reading Agency together with mental health organisations will bring a mix of mood-boosting books ranging from poetry to fiction and non-fiction.
