Churchyard Clean Up: a big thank you to all those who helped in the recent churchyard tidy up - sweeping up leaves, trimming hedges, strimming grass, felling trees and providing welcome refreshments! A beautiful morning and a job well done! Special thanks to Alex Brading, Pauline Aldous, Zoe Wesson and Jeff Nutland.

Calling Bell Ringers: there is currently only one bell ringer at Wath, assisted by ringers from Pickhill, Kirklington and Burneston so if you fancy learning this new skill which according to recent press releases is better for you than a stint at the gym, contact Janet Wadsworth on 01845 567617. This a challenging but rewarding pastime which can open up a whole new world.

Village Life: help is urgently needed to deliver copies of Village Life along the main road in Melmerby. Only a few minutes is required each month to deliver about 60 copies - even if you can help with only some of these, please contact Glyn Hopper on 01845 567462.

Church Services: Sunday December 23, St Mary’s Church, Wath - Holy Communion at 10.30am. Melmerby Chapel - Evening Worship at 6.30pm with Stuart Vennart. Christmas Eve, December 24, St Mary’s Church, Wath, Nine Lessons and Carols at 7pm. Christmas Day, December 25, St Mary’s Church, Wath, Christmas Holy Communion at 11am.
