Ripon charities and voluntary groups are being offered free printer ink cartridges – thanks to the generosity of a local employer.
On a visit to Wolseley Regional Distribution Centre (RDC) on the Melmerby estate, Mayor David Elsy accepted a donation of new, un-used printer cartridges from the firm to be distributed to charities and voluntary organisations in the Ripon area.
More than £4,000 worth of mostly HP print cartridges (laser and inkjet) were collected by the Wolseley team from their offices and branches and handed over last Tuesday by Wolseley representatives, Peter Fletcher and Sally Tweddle.
Coun Elsy, who was also given a tour of the 350,000 sq ft warehouse, said: “It was a pleasure to accept these printer cartridges on behalf of charity and voluntary organisations in the area.
“I will be offering them to appropriate offices in the Ripon area and I’m sure they will be very welcome.”
• If any charities or voluntary organisations in the Ripon area use HP ink cartridges and would like to take advantage of this windfall, get in touch with Coun Elsy on 01765 606700.
