Masham Youth Club: is organising a bowling excursion on Thursday, December 6. 13 places are available on a first come, first served basis. Meet at Masham Town Hall at 6pm, returning at 9.30pm. £10 per person. Consent letter and money required. The Youth Club is for young people in Year 7 and above and meets at the town hall on Thursday evenings from 7-9pm. Yorkshire Cancer Research Coffee Evening: at Masham Town Hall on Friday, December 7 from 7pm. Cakes, gifts, toys, groceries, bulbs, Christmas wreaths, table arrangements, jewellery, bric-a-brac, Christmas cards, tombola and raffle. To be opened by Angela Newton. Entertainment by Helen and Caroline Hird. Admission: adults £1 and children free. The committee will be in the town hall from 10.30am on the day to receive gifts for the stalls.

Masham’s Traditional Christmas Fair: takes places on Saturday, December 8. The whole town comes to festival life with a traditional Christmas fair, featuring the Father Christmas procession, arriving at Masham C of E School at 12.30pm, where there will be presents and a buffet lunch for children. The film, The Muppets will be shown at St Mary’s Church at 1pm and will be free of charge with many thanks to Masham Parish Council for covering the costs of this film. There will be festive stalls, handbell ringers, Christmas food and drink, gifts and decorations and entertainment throughout the day in the Market Place, decorated shops and pubs and Christmas craft fairs at both the town hall and White Bear. The annual torchlight procession will depart from Maple Creek at 6.30pm and make its way to the King’s Head Hotel in the Market Place for mulled wine and mince pies. There are a few stalls still available in the town hall, so if you have handmade goods to sell, or want to raise some money for a good cause, why not take advantage of Masham at its busiest and most festive? The White Bear Christmas Fayre: at the White Bear, Masham on Saturday and Sunday, December 8 and 9. Come and indulge with a glass of mulled wine and a mince pie whilst listening to festive Christmas carols from the fabulous brass band from 3.30pm on the Saturday. Nativity on the Green: St Paul’s Church, Healey and Kell Bank CE School present Nativity on the Green. The journey begins on the Green at Fearby at 2.30pm on Sunday, December 9. Bring stout footwear and warm clothes. Parking at Fearby Village Hall. Hot refreshments served afterwards by Fearby and Healey WI.

Masham WI Carol Service: at Masham Methodist Church on Wednesday, December 12 at 2.30pm. All are invited. Followed by tea and mince pies in the Methodist Schoolroom.

Masham Agricultural Discussion Group: is meeting on Thursday, December 13 at Masham Sports Association Pavilion at 7.45pm. Simon Frost from Hopping Farm, Youlgreave, Bakewell, Derbyshire will be speaking about his farming life. All welcome. For more details contact 01765 689250.

Masham Christmas Cards: Kathryn Carter has produced some very striking Masham Christmas cards. The cards are for sale at Mashamshire Community Office, 7 Little Market Place, Masham at £1 each. All proceeds to the community office. Also for sale are a colourful variety of Christmas cards sold in aid of RNLI.
