Christmas with Traidcraft: Masham Methodist Church Hall, 34 Park Street, Masham. Saturday, November 2 10.30am-12pm. Fairly traded goods include; tea, coffee, chocolate, breakfast cereals, dried fruits, nuts, rice, sugar, honey, stationery, greetings cards, household products and many other items. Stalls include crafts from around the world. Christmas cards and gifts available. Come and buy fairly traded goods. All welcome.

Learn to Jive Workshop: Masham Town Hall, Saturday, November 2 at 2-3pm. Presented by Masham Arts Festival. Suitable for complete beginners and anyone who loves to dance, this fun session will teach you how to jive so you can show off your new found skills at the evening party. Festival Party 50s Night featuring Swingamathing: Masham Town Hall, Saturday, November 2 7.30-11pm. Presented by Masham Arts Festival. Holy Communion: is celebrated at St Mary’s Church Masham, Sunday, November 3 at 8am and 10.45am this is a family service.

Methodist Church Services: Masham Methodist Church, Sunday, October 3 10.30am with Joan Bailey. There is an additional service at 6.30pm with Janet Newey taking place at Maple Creek.

Catherine Slater Exhibition at Blue Light Gallery: Blue Light Gallery, 7 Little Market Place, Masham, Ripon HG4 4DY. Tuesday, November 5 10am-3pm. Running through the month of November. Catherine is an experienced textile artist and tutor whose work has been shown in national and international exhibitions. As a felt maker she combines traditional craft with contemporary designs and combinations of fibres to create beautiful and lasting fabrics. She specialises in making gossamer weight felt that looks delicate and drapes well but is durable and robust enough to create wearable art pieces or as the base layer for her fibre art and multi-media pictures. Masham Golf Club Domino Evenings: the Clubhouse, Masham Golf Club, Masham. Tuesday, November 5 7.30-10.30pm. Open to members and non-members, a great social opportunity in a friendly environment. Movies in Masham – Spirit of 45: Masham Town Hall, Tuesday, November 5 7.30-10.30pm. Ken Loach uses archive film and interviews to evoke the unprecedented community co-operation following the war. Movies in Masham is a full cinema experience also featuring wine and soft drinks, Brymor ice cream, and popcorn. Tickets £5 available from the community office or on the door.

Masham Photographic Club: the King’s Head Conference Room, Tuesday, November 7.30-10pm. Mountain landscapes and searching for depth – presented by Peter Leeming. Peter is a full time landscape photographer and writer. His work has appeared in a variety of publications, on television and he has won numerous awards. Recently, along with fellow photographer Ruth Fairbrother, Peter opened the Gallery Within at the Jo Cornish Galleries in Northallerton. Musical Men Wanted: the musical ladies of St Mary’s Choir are in need of some tenors and basses to enhance their overall sound. The ability to read music is helpful but not essential as long as you can sing in tune. If you enjoy singing and can work as a team member you will be very welcome.
