The Acorn Apres Ski Christmas party held in a PapaKata tent at Ripley raised over £22,000, bringing the total raised by the charity in 2013 to almost £105,000 - a new record.

The evening was attended by 431 guests who enjoyed dinner by chef, Michael Kernall.

The auction was conducted by Tim Waring of Knight Frank and prizes included a skiing holiday in the French Alps, overnight stays at the Hotel du Vin, Harrogate and a diamond pendant kindly donated by Berry’s Jewellers.

The charity raises funds for people with dementia and their carers and for research into scleroderma disease at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
