In the run up to Christmas, Rotarians from the Rotary Club of Lower Wharfedale went out collecting for Leeds-based St Gemma’s Hospice.

The facility for people with life threatening illnesses, is President Mike Baron’s chosen charity for this year.

He thanked people who donated in Boston Spa and Collingham on December 14 and raised £167.94 and £158.41 respectively and on December 20 in Morrisons in Wetherby where they raised a further £729.41.

Mike said he was very pleased that the club had been well supported in the community and would be handing over a cheque in the New Year.
