A major new extension of Crossley Street Surgery is now open to the public after its official opening.
Incorporating a pharmacy, lift access, and several new consulting and treatment rooms, the staff at the Wetherby surgery said they are excited about the new addition to the site, which also features a much needed increase in car park capacity.
The building project took nine months in total, though the surgery remained fully operational throughout the duration of the work, with no lost appointments as a result.
Practice manager Anita Hampson said: “This represents a significant investment in the improvement of patient services at the surgery.
“All new clinical areas are fully compliant to the highest Care Quality Commission (CQC) standards, while the relocation of Day Lewis pharmacy into the building has proved a huge success with patients, providing a convenient in house pharmacy option for those who wish to use it.
“The provision of a large lift to first floor consulting rooms has been very popular with many of our elderly patients and those parents with very young families.”
The partners at the practice said they wished to thank all staff and patients for their patience over the course of the building project.
Dr Ellis Rickwood also thanked Keepsake Builders who carried out the work, and DOMA architects, who provided the designs for the updated premises.
The newly updated surgery opened officially on Friday, May 9, at 7.30pm.
