An incident in a Ripon nightclub which spilled over into the street and left a man with two fractures to his cheekbone had a sequel in court this week.
Robert Noel Magil, of Georgia’s Mews, High Skellgate, Ripon, appeared before Harrogate magistrates on Tuesday accused of inflicting grievous bodily harm on Carsten Ludemann on Market Place East, on Friday, May 2.
After hearing Mr Ludemann had been punched in the club, followed as he went to find a taxi to take him home and punched three more times, court chairman Dr John Garraway ruled the case too serious to remain with magistrates.
He bailed 23-year-old Magil, who did not enter a plea to the charge, for trial at York Crown Court where he will make an initial appearance on July 21.
In the meantime he must avoid all contact with Mr Ludemann.
