Have your say

On behalf of Ripon Community Church I would like thank you for all your help and support you have given to the ‘Bread of Life’ food bank.

As you will know this was an initiative that Alec started in our church to help those who were struggling with personal financial difficulties.

I know you will join with me in thanking Alec for all he has done in organising and running the food bank and serving the local community in this way.

I would also like to thank Ruth Bakes who has been very much a part of the food bank since it started.

‘Bread of Life’ has now been going for four years and on a fortnightly basis has provided food for up to 25 families at any one time, with around 80 families supported in total.

We are now collecting food from three supermarkets, as well as receiving food and financial help from churches and private individuals.

A venture of this sort takes a lot of time and organisation, so your continued support and commitment is valued, especially in helping Alec and Ruth on the Friday evenings when the food is given out and on the various collection days at the supermarkets.

Once again, thank you for all you have done and we wish ‘Bread of Life’ well for all its future years.
