Last service at historic site

A CHURCH in central Harrogate will hold its last service in its current home today.

Mayfield Community Church has been based in Mayfield Grove for 125 years, but is moving as part of its plans to expand and reach out into the community.

From next Sunday, October 30, it will be re-named Mowbray Community Church and will be based in Westmoreland Street, at the top of East Parade, in front of the Mowbray Medical Centre.

Sunday services will be held at 10am and 6.30pm and will be open to anyone in the community who wants to attend.

Planning consent has been granted to turn the Mayfield building into eight flats.
