Church services: there will be no service on Sunday in St Andrew’s church. Communion by extension with Adrian Roberts begins at 11am at St James’ church in Grewelthorpe.

Chapel service: the covenant service will be led by the Rev Susan Richardson at 10.30am on Sunday in the Ebenezer chapel.

Coffee morning: the chapel coffee morning will be held from 10am-noon on Tuesday. In addition to coffee and a chat there will be cakes and preserves for sale.

Exercise class: a mixed ability class offering two levels of exercises to appeal to all fitness levels begins on Tuesday. It will be held from 2-3pm in the mechanics’ institute. The class combines toning, strength and cardio exercises and a post workout stretch. The charge is £24 for a six week block of classes. Aldfield - Church service: there will be no service on Sunday in St Lawrence’s Church.

Dallowgill - Chapel service: there is no service on Sunday at Dallowgill chapel.

Meeting: the Discover Dallowgill History Project meeting will take place at Dallowgill Methodist chapel on Sunday, January 13. It begins after the 2pm chapel service. £2 per person will cover refreshments and chapel costs.

Grantley – Dominoes: please note that there will be no domino night in the village hall his month. The first one of the new year will be on Friday, February 1.

Dancing: this will be held in the village hall from 7.30-10pm on Thursday, January 10.

Dance: the next dance at the village hall takes place from 8pm to midnight on Saturday, January 12 when Beresfords will be the band. Supper will be available and there will be a raffle.

Sawley - Church service: there is no service this week in the Church of St Michael and All Angels.

Chapel service: the Rev Susan Richardson will lead the covenant service at 2pm on Sunday in Sawley chapel.

Chapel fundraiser: at 7.30pm tomorrow there will be a special domino drive in the village hall to raise funds for Sawley chapel. Prizes for this will be very welcome.

Village hall events: there will be table tennis at 7.30pm on Monday, dominoes at 1.30pm on Tuesday and short mat bowls at 1pm on Wednesday.

Meeting: village hall committee members meet at 7.45pm on Tuesday in the village hall.

Party time: Sawley children’s party will be held in the village hall at 2pm on Saturday, January 12.

Whist and dominoes: Sawley village hall’s whist and domino night begins at 7.30pm on Friday, January 18.

Winksley - Church service: the united benefice eucharist celebrated by the Rev Trevor Vaughan, begins at 10. 30am on Sunday at the Church of Ss Cuthbert and Oswald.
