A band of colder but drier weather is heading for Harrogate and North Yorkshire - but it will be preceded by more heavy rain and hill snow at the weekend, the Met Office has warned.

Snow has already started to fall in the Yorkshire Dales, and Saturday will see a cold start with some bright spells. Bands of showers will cross all parts during the day with a few heavier bursts of rain. Generally staying cloud with temperatures struggling.
