WENSLEYDALE Ladies Circle has donated £2,000 to the Friarage Hospital in Northallerton.

The money, which was raised by providing refreshments at the Dales Food Festival in Leyburn, has been shared between the Women’s Health Unit (now Allerton Ward) and the Mowbray Suite.

The funds will be used to buy a patient monitoring machine for the ward and a television and chairs for the Mowbray Suite so that relatives accompanying patients having chemotherapy can be more comfortable.

Anne Wall, clinical matron for women and children at the Friarage, said: “We are very grateful to the group for all its efforts.”
