St John’s Community Centre Sitting Scheme, is appealing for volunteers.
The group, based at Catterick Garrison, provides a sitting service for elderly people, to give their carers a break.
Volunteers must be over 18, reliable, friendly and caring. They must also undergo an Enhanced Disclosure.
Project Coordinator, Isobel Penman, said, “We currently have 20 volunteers but more are desperately needed to cover an increasing demand for this service, particularly in the upper Dales where there is a waiting list.
