A POPULAR city fundraising event is to return this autumn.
The Saint Michael’s Sunrise Walk took place for the first time last year and proved so popular organisers have decided to stage it again, at on Sunday, September 18 2011.
The hospice is calling for Ripon’s early birds to join in the sponsored six mile walk from Sawley Village Hall to Ripon Cathedral and passing Studley Deer Park and Fountains Hall as the sun rises.
Almost 200 walkers joined last year’s event and organisers are hoping for an even bigger turn out this year.
Charity chief executive Tony Collins said: “If everyone brings one friend or family member we can really put the Sunrise Walk on the calendar for Ripon.”
All proceeds of the event will go to the hospice, which cares for terminally ill people and their families in the Harrogate and Ripon areas.
