Popular BBC Radio 4 programme Any Questions will broadcast from Harrogate Ladies’ College.
An anticipated audience of 1.5 million people will tune in to hear host Jonathan Dimbleby present the programme on July 4, the evening before the district hosts the Grand Départ.
Guests have not yet been confirmed, but when the show was last hosted in Harrogate, William Hague joined Shirley Williams and Dr John Sentamu.
A spokesperson for the school said: “Harrogate Ladies’ College are delighted to play host to this prestigious and long-running radio programme.
“Debating and an understanding of politics are very important parts of the wider curriculum at HLC. Hosting Any Questions? at the school is an ideal opportunity to bring these important aspects of society and education together under our roof.”
Free tickets are available from the school by contacting firstname.lastname@example.org
The programme travels throughout the United Kingdom and occasionally to Europe. The audience submits questions on the day and one of the stringent and unchanging rules of the programme is that the panel never sees the questions in advance.
