Harrogate Hydro reopens following flood

The Hydro in Harrogate has reopened following a flood in the plant room

Harrogate Borough Council has decided to close the leisure centre following a technical issue which has affected the electricity.

All electrics are were out at the Hydro and also the Coppice Valley Children's Nursery but the nursery remained open.

Electricity has now been restored to the Hydro and also Coppice Valley Children’s Nursery which is located next door. The swimming programme has also resumed as normal.

Nigel Avison, Director of Economy and Culture said: “I would like to thank the public for their patience and understanding and apologise for any inconvenience caused to users of the leisure centre by the closure this morning.

"We have rectified the issue as quickly as possible and both the swimming pool and Brimhams Fitness Centre have now re-opened.”
