Church Celebration: Grewelthorpe St James’ and The Methodist Church invite everyone to celebrate the completion of the church renovations. This will be on Saturday, June 22 at 6pm. The evening will commence with a short service of thanksgiving, attended by Bishop James Bell and The Rev Stephen Burgess, chair of the Methodist District. After the service, light refreshments will be served. It is hoped that everyone will want to inspect the new church interior and see what has been achieved.

WI Quiz: a draw was made at the recent WI meeting from all the correct entries of the 2013 quiz. The winner is Mrs E Falshaw of Masham. Thank you to everyone who supported Grewelthorpe WI by taking part. The answers are available on the Grewelthorpe website under WI.

Grewelthorpe WI Report: the June meeting was guest night with members from several institutes in the group attending. The speaker for the evening was Ryan Stocks from Owl Adventures. He had brought along eight owls and a falcon. The audience were delighted to see these delightful birds close up, get a chance to handle them and see them flying around the room. A lovely supper was served afterwards and everyone agreed it had been a very pleasant evening. Grewelthorpe members are reminded of the outing to the lavender farm on Wednesday, June 26. The coach leaves the Crown at 9.30am.

Sheep Trail: the Grewelthorpe sheep trail starts on June 15. Now is the time to buy your sheep or register your sheep from last year. There will be a prize of £50 for the best decorated sheep with 2nd and 3rd prizes donated by Black Sheep Brewery who are sponsoring the event. For the under 12s there are prizes for the best decorated lamb. To take part please contact Alison Kerr on 01765 658265 or amkerr01@aol.com. All proceeds are for the village hall fund.
