Crowds dodged the showers to discover the tasty treats on offer at the third three-day Wetherby Food Festival.

But despite poor weather last Saturday, people turned out to the Ings site with 10,500 visitors recorded.

“We had another successful event despite the dreary weather on Saturday,” said organiser Julie Sowden.

“It was amazing to see how many people still came down to support the festival despite the forecast.

“The rain held off for a few hours in the afternoon which helped the atmosphere, footfall and sales for our traders.

“We still achieved 10,500 visitors over the three days which was fantastic and we cannot express how thankful we are to those who supported the event.

“We received some great feedback which included people saying how much quicker the main festival bar was serving which meant there was barely any wait time to get served all weekend and the additional shelters were appreciated.”

As well as food demonstrations, artists entertained on the stage with Wetherby Stage Stars and Harrogate Rock Choir creating a great start to a much brighter Sunday.

And a wealth of food stalls, catering for tastes from around the world, helped to create a carnival atmosphere and a journey of discovery.

Julie added: “Our charity stalls, which we provide free of charge, have reported some great successes and much needed funds were raised once again through the event.
