A MIDSUMMER Night’s Dream is coming to Kiplin Hall next month.

On Friday, July 8 The Lord Chamberlain’s Men will be performing an open air production of the Shakespearian magical comedy.

Staged in the open air by the lake in the gardens of the Jacobean hall near Scorton, this will be the fourth visit by the all male company.

Gates will open for picnics at 6.30pm with the performance starting at 7.30pm.

Last year the company performed The Tempest but this year have gone for a lighter production.

Mark Puddle, founder and creative director of The Lord Chamberlain’s Men, said A Midsummer Night’s Dream is extremely popular with audiences.

“The Tempest is a far more thoughtful play, so for this year we decided to go all out and do a raucous, no holds-barred comedy, A Midsummer Night’s Dream was the natural choice.”

Dawn Webster, Curator of Kiplin Hall said: “A Midsummer Night’s Dream is a play that has delighted audiences for almost 400 years – as long as Kiplin has been standing.

Tickets priced at £14 for adults, £12 for concessions/students and £8 for children are available from info@kiplinhall.co.uk or call 01748 818178
