Kirkby Malzeard primary school has raised £2000 towards a new footpath around the school field, - with the help of Daisy the cow.
Friends of the school launched the cowpat competition in May with the help of MP Julian Smith.
And it was all down to Daisy to secure the winner.
School council member Debra Hindle said the strong winds on Monday had caused them some worry.
“We did start to wonder where in fact the cow pat might land in such weather so thought it better to keep our distance.
“Daisy did a sterling job but kept us all waiting for an hour and a half before performing her duty, during this time we kept everyone occupied with strawberry teas.
“We raised about £2,500, which is amazing and certainly goes a long way to paying for our footpath. Marie Curie were delighted with our donation to them of £500 and were very helpful on the day.”
The winning ticket number is 418 and was bought locally.
“We would sincerely like to thank all those people who bought tickets,” said Debra.
