BOROUGHBRIDGE businessman Darren Sadler is set to host the Europe’s Strongest Man competition in Leeds.

Darren – owner of Absolute Fitness in the town – will be staging the event at Headingley Stadium on Saturday, June 23, at 1pm

The competition will feature the 12 strongest men in Europe competing in six events for the chance to win a place at this year’s World’s Strongest Man competition.

Athletes confirmed include Jay Hughes, Terry Hollands, Laurence Shahlaei and Mark Felix of England, Ken Nowicki of Scotland, Richard Smith of Wales, James Fennelly of Ireland, Zydrunas Savickas and Vytautas Lalas of Lithuania, Janusz Kułaga of Poland, and Stefan Solvi Peterson and Thor Bjornsson of Iceland.

Promoter Darren, who opened Absolute Fitness four years ago, is no stranger to competing in strongman events himself having taken part in the World’s Strongest Man competition several times.
