Police are now appealing for witnesses to come forward to help their investigation into the crash.
The victim, a 74-year-old Sharow woman is in a critical condition in Leeds General Infirmary after suffering a severe head injury when she was hit by a black Vauxhall Corsa as she crossed the A61 at Hutton Bank on Monday 9 January 2012.

Police appealed for witnesses in the days following the incident, but so far nobody has contacted them with information.
Traffic Sergeant Pete Stringer, of North Yorkshire Police’s Roads Policing Group, said: “Unfortunately, as a result of this collision, an elderly lady is seriously ill in hospital.
“We need people to come forward an help with our investigation, so we can establish exactly what happened.
“I urge anyone who witnessed the collision itself or saw either the pedestrian or the black Vauxhall Corsa prior to the collision to get in touch with the police as soon as possible.”
Officers returned to the scene of the collision to stop drivers in an effort to gather the information they need.
Anyone who can help the police with their enquiries is urged to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101 – select option 2 – and ask for Traffic Constable Steve Wood, quoting reference number 12120004660.
