The following were dealt with at Harrogate Magistrates Court on November 10.

Matthew Alan Barker 26, of 45 Inman Grove, Knaresborough, was fined £330 for driving while unfit through drugs. He was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £33 and costs of £85, and was disqualified from driving for 18 months.

Debra Hutchinson, 56, of 3 West Cliffe Mews, Harrogate, was fined £100 for driving while under the influence of alcohol. She was disqualified from driving for two years, to be reduced by 24 weeks on completion of an approved course. She was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £60, costs of £85 and a criminal courts charge of £150, and to participate in a drink impaired drivers course.

Michael Thomas, 30, of 64 Hallfield Lane, Wetherby, was given a six-month conditional discharge for failing to have the correct insurance for a vehicle. He was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £15 and a criminal courts charge of £150.

Lindsay Dumsday, 22, of 3 Verity Walk, Harrogate, was fined £210 for driving while under the influence of alcohol. She was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £21, costs of £85 and a criminal courts charge of £150. She was disqualified from driving for 17 months.

Adam Flak, 34, of 58 Lupton Close, Glasshouses, was fined £1,160 for driving while under the influence of alcohol. He was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £116, costs of £85 and a criminal courts charge of £150. He was disqualified from driving for 22 months, to be reduced by 22 weeks on completion of an approved course. No separate penalty was imposed for driving without due care and attention or failing to stop after an accident.

Emmett Robert Harnett, 20, of 10 Hodgson House, Deighton Road, Wetherby, was given a 12-month community order for assault by beating. He was ordered to carry out 50 hours’ unpaid work and to pay compensation of £125, a victim surcharge of £60, costs of £85 and a criminal courts charge of £150.

Darren Plant, 35, of 7-8 Bower Street, Harrogte, was given a seven day prison sentence for stealing an MP3 player from Asda in Harrogate. He was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £80 and a criminal courts charge of £150.

Martin Hugh Johnston, 31, of 13A Roche Avenue, Harrogate, was given a nine-week prison sentence suspended for 12 months for failing to comply with a curfew previously imposed by the court. A further four-week curfew was imposed and he was ordered to pay costs of £40 and a £100 criminal courts charge.

Brian Stanley Gregory, 32, of no fixed address, was given a one-month prison sentence for breaching a domestic violence protection order three days after it was imposed.

Wojciech Ratynski, 42, of 7-8 Bower Street, Harrogate, was given a 12-month conditional discharge for unlawfully damaging a blue Mazda. He was ordered to pay compensation of £250, a victim surcharge of £15 and a criminal courts charge of £150.
