A woman, suspected of stealing a handbag containing personal items including a passport from M&S Foodhall on Leeds Road, is being hunted by police.
The victim was choosing items from the shelves when the thief quickly snatched the large red leather handbag from her trolley and left the store.
The woman's handbag contained a quantity of cash and various personal items including the victim's United Kingdom passport.
The female suspect is described as being of large build and Arabic in appearance and was dressed in a long black coat with a light coloured hijab.
The theft happened at approximately 11.10am on Tuesday, March 15
Police are conducting enquiries over the theft that happened at approximately 11.10am on March 1 and are requesting the public's assistance.
Officers are hoping to determine the identification of the female in the image and anyone with information should contact police on 101, select option 2, and ask for PC46 Brendon Frith.
