Good Samaritan sought after Harrogate assault

Police are appealing for a good Samaritan who helped a woman who had been assaulted in Harrogate town centre on Friday night to come forward.

The man, described as tall, of slim to average build with a shaved head and tattoos, approached the woman at the Post Office cash point on Cambridge Street at around 11pm.

Two people, a man and a woman, were with the victim at the cash point. However, they ran off when they were approached by the man who asked if she needed help.

The man stayed with the victim, who is aged in her 30s, until the police arrived.

Police would like the man to come forward as he may have key information to assist the investigation surrounding the assault on the woman.
