An elderly woman pedestrian from Ripon has been left in hospital after she and a cyclist collided in the city.
The crash between the 84-year-old woman and the male cyclist, aged 68, happened outside Ripon police station on North Street on Tuesday, December 10, at around 11.45am.
At the time of the incident the man was riding towards the clock tower and the woman was crossing the road from the opposite side to the police station.
As a result of the collision the woman suffered serious injuries and was taken to Harrogate District Hospital where she remains in a comfortable condition. The rider of the bicycle was not injured.
Traffic Constable Rob Roberts said: “If you witnessed the collision, or saw either of the people involved just prior to the incident, I urge you to contact the police straight away as you may have vital information that could assist my investigation.”
