Police are investigating the theft of three border collies from a farm near Bedale.

Police are appealing for information following the theft of three Border Collies in the Bedale area.

They were stolen from a farm near Newton-Le-Willows between 12am on Sunday,February 5 and 5.30pm on Monday, February 6.

The thieves broke into a shed where the dogs were secured.

The stolen sheepdogs are two black and white bitches one aged 14 months, with a smooth coat, and a seven-year-old. The third is a seven-year-old red and white dog.

PC Dave Cousins, of Leyburn Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “I am appealing to anyone who can help to recover the dogs to contact the police or Crimestoppers as soon as possible.

”I would like to speak to anyone who may have been offered any of the dogs for sale or knows of someone who has recently acquired a sheepdog in unusual circumstances and ask them to come forward straight away.”
