SUPER Furry Animals’ creative leader Gruff Rhys has had to change the date of his Harrogate International Festival Fringe appearance.
The exclusive show, his only date in the north of England of the entire summer, will now take place at Harrogate Theatre on Monday, July 18 after a clash with dates in Japan.
All tickets already sold are valid for the new date.
His successful solo career had developed as a sideline from the groundbreaking and ever-popular SFA.
Gorillaz, Mogwai, De La Soul, Danger Mouse and Sir Paul McCartney are just a few of the big names Gruff has worked with on his own.
His new album Hotel Shampoo reveals the multi-instrumentalist has lost none of his genius for blending gorgeous pop with more experimental sounds.
Support on the evening will come from The Birdman Rallies, the Harrogate-York-based four-piece who are one of the region’s unsigned gems.
l Tickets costing £17 each are available now at the theatre box office on 01423 502 116 or online at www.harrogatetheatre.co.uk
