Bedale’s community bakery will under the spotlight once more this week.

‘Bread Actually’ has already featured on the BBC’s Countryfile but on September 15 residents will be able to learn more about the scheme based at Bedale Station.

The Annual General Meeting of the Bedale and Villages Community Forum – the group’s ninth AGM – will hear from members of the group. It began as a group of friends baking ‘real’ bread together as a social and therapeutic activity and moved on to opening a bakery, hosting regular baking sessions, selling at Masham market and promoting the use of locally sourced products.

The AGM will also hear about the ‘Beckside Project’ which aims to replace Bedale’s existing scout and guide headquarters with a new environmentally friendly community building.

The meeting takes place from 7.30pm at Bedale Hall.

Light refreshments will be provided. To confirm attendance or to request further information contact Peter Cole, Hambleton District Council’s Partnerships Officer on 01609 767212 or peter.cole@hambleton.gov.uk.
