Ripon scoops two awards at Welcome to Yorkshire’s star-studded White Rose Awards

Ripon won two awards at this year’s Welcome to Yorkshire White Rose Awards, where local people rubbed shoulders with members of the Emmerdale cast and Olympic and Paralympic gold medallists at Elland Road, Leeds. Ripon scooped the Best Restaurant award for Samuel’s at Swinton Park and Fountain’s Abbey and Studley Royal pipped last year’s winner Newby Hall to the post of Best Large Visitor Attraction.

Gary Verity, the chief executive of Welcome to Yorkshire, joined members of the Emmerdale cast to celebrate the biggest event of its kind in the UK.
