A Wetherby-based training provider is celebrating after securing a deal in India that will see them significantly contribute to the Indian economy and help them in their mission to be recognised as a global brand.
Pitman Training Group has partnered with Franchise India to work towards changing the face of education and training for careers across India, through learning initiatives which are unique to the British brand.
The deal comes after managing director Claire Lister was invited to share insights at the Indian Education Congress in Delhi last month; she has since been at the forefront of education and skills discussions focused on leading change across the country.
Ms Lister said: “There is a big focus on British Education in India – it is a growing education market with massive investment in up-skilling the population as well as individuals investing high proportions of their income into education. This provides a great opportunity for Pitman Indian franchisees to take a strong British brand and use it to fit the demand for skills, aligning with UK Qualifications, which are heavily in demand.
This agreement comes as part of global growth across the education sector in international territories which have welcomed the British model of education, and the Pitman brand. We’re really excited about the future.”
Pitman Training has been teaching shorthand in India since the turn of the 20th Century, returning now to introduce the modern ‘equivalents’ in office training into the workplace, focused on vocational training and career development.
Talks are already ongoing with some of India’s leading educational institutes about the first centre openings later in 2015 and it is expected that there will be a significant number of Pitman Training centres across India by the end of the year.
Recognised as a UK business Superbrand for the third consecutive year, Pitman Training Group has focused heavily on global expansion, with recent agreements signed in Nigeria, Zimbabwe and the Cayman Islands.
