Would you welcome a Costa Coffee in Ripon?

A planning application has been submitted to bring a Costa Coffee shop to Ripon.

As reported last week, some local businesses would prefer a retailer to take over the premises on Fishergate because they believe this would be a bigger attraction to tourists.

Harrogate Borough Council is due to decide the application on October 29.
