Nidderdale Show will be featured in a new cooking show which starts on Monday, March 11 on BBC2.
Celebrity chefs Ed Baines and Valentine Warner will go head to head in the new show Country Show Cook-Off.
In the first week of the series, the two high-flying chefs hit the road to compete in country shows on a journey which takes them from Yorkshire to the south coast and back, including Nidderdale show at Pateley Bridge, Otley show, Lambeth, Brighton and Stokesley .
Country Show Cook Off follows eight star chefs as they set off on a food-filled road trip to compete in some of the most demanding cookery contests across the country.
The chefs will tour the UK in a vintage van, complete with a small but perfectly formed kitchen to compete for culinary glory.
In each episode, the two competing chefs visit a different town or village and anonymously enter a dish into its traditional country show or specialist food festival.
Not only will the chefs compete against each other, but they will be pitched against the very best local amateur cooks and previous prize-winners who know the judges’ likes and dislikes like the back of their hand.
On their journey, the chefs also visit local specialist food producers to learn about the area’s culinary history and cook regional specialties using local produce.
Ed Baines said: “What a journey we went on, a truly fantastic and memorable experience, thundering around in the old French van visiting interesting and beautiful locations ,”
Producers were hugely impressed with the picturesque setting of Nidderdale show in September.
