Larger site for firm’s key Harrogate office

National accountancy firm Saffery Champness has completed a long-awaited move to new larger premises in the centre of Harrogate.

The relocation to Mitre House on North Park Road follows extensive refurbishment of the offices, which have been chosen to accommodate planned expansion of the company’s operations in the Yorkshire region.

Head of office Martin Holden said the move had been precipitated by recent growth, which has seen turnover rise by more than ten per cent in the past year.

“Saffery Champness has nine locations across the UK, and the Harrogate office, which serves the Yorkshire region, has been identified by the firm as a key area for investment,” he said.

“We will be announcing a number of appointments over the coming months and anticipate a larger team and portfolio for both the audit and tax sides of our business.”

Mr Holden said Harrogate’s proximity to the firm’s key client base in North and West Yorkshire made it the perfect location for a major regional office.

“Our Harrogate practice has particular expertise in trust accounting, inheritance tax planning and rural business, areas which are in particularly high demand in the region,” said Mr Holden.

“In addition, our strong corporate tax department is serving an ever-increasing proportion of Yorkshire’s resilient business sector.”

A number of events will be held this autumn to mark the expansion.
