Jobs created by Ripon Racecourse’s new betting system
The new roles at Ripon Racecourse will involve selling bets to race-goers.
Ripon Racecourse will create up to 60 full- and part-time jobs in the area following its decision to open an in-house betting system, RiponBET,
In partnership with racecourse technology provider Data Tote, RiponBET will offer racegoers a range of popular fixed odds bet types at more than 50 betting windows across the racecourse.
The new jobs – consisting of customer service operators and supervisor positions – will involve selling bets to race-goers around the racecourse and within hospitality and restaurant areas using ultra modern electronic point of sale equipment, hand-held terminals and personal tablets.
James Hutchinson, chief executive at Ripon Racecourse, said: “It is very pleasing to be creating new employment in the area.
“If candidates have worked previously in betting shops or on a racecourse then that is obviously great experience to bring to RiponBET.
“But it is not essential for applicants to have an in depth understanding of racing and sport – moreover, we are looking for applicants who are confident, have a cheerful disposition and most of all enjoy interacting with the public.”
The roles are being managed by ARC Hospitality Recruitment Solutions Ltd and applicants, who must be at least 18 years or older, can apply directly through the racecourse’s website, www.ripon-races.co.uk
