The owners of a printing firm stopped the presses for the weekend and headed to the Lake District – taking a party of 43 employees and their partners with them – to celebrate 25 years in business.

David and Marina Wyvill founded Platinum Print in a garage in Harrogate and the business, which is now based at Hookstone Park, today turns over £3.2 million.

The staff and their partners were taken to Derwentwater for a weekend of activities which included axe-throwing, archery, catapult-building, fly-casting and sheep-herding.

The first day finished with prize giving and a ‘Back to the 80s’ fancy dress disco, recalling the decade when the business first started. The next day started with a boat trip, before the entire team climbed the 451m Catbells.

Mark Plummer, who took over as managing director earlier this year, said: ”It was enormously generous of David and Marina Wyvill to take such a large party to celebrate 25 years of business success.

“The business has always been run as a family concern and to give everyone the opportunity to celebrate together was absolutely fantastic and appreciated by all.”
